Shanghai International Medical Center
Shanghai International Medical Center (SIMC) is a green-field hospital in Pudong district in Shanghai, China, located within the Shanghai International Medical Zone. Parkway Pantai is the pre-start up consultant for the project and will operate the 500-bed hospital upon its completion before March 2014.
Shanghai International Medical Zone is designed to be a medical hub providing international healthcare medical services to China’s affluent population residing in the Pearl River Delta and Bohai regions. It will serve as a platform for companies engaged in the full supply chain of healthcare activities, fuelling opportunities for collaborations between medical institutions, medical device manufacturers and biomedical players.
Leveraging advanced medical technologies, SIMC will maintain Parkway’s high standards of healthcare services and clinical outcomes in serving the high-end customers in Shanghai and from all over China. It will partner Shanghai Jiaotong Medical University and its 12 affiliated hospitals to set up clinical centres of excellence staffed by top physicians from the hospitals.
The first high-end general hospital in Shanghai, SIMC enjoys strong support from Shanghai’s Municipal Government, Shanghai Healthcare Bureau and the government of Pudong District. The hospital will enhance Parkway Pantai's presence in the China market, where there are great opportunities for growth due to its large, ageing population, emerging economy, and increasing affluence. To top it off, it is strategically located in the economic hub of China and close to the Shanghai international airport, making it convenient even to downtown locals.
