The first successful liver transplant operations at Mount Elizabeth Hospital are carried out.

2008
The Group successfully acquires the land for its new hospital at Novena, and the groundbreaking ceremony is held at the site on 11 November.

Parkway Holdings Limited announces that has signed an agreement with United Eastern Medical Services LLC to manage an upcoming women and children's specialty hospital in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates.

Parkway College launches 11 courses. Parkway Education receives accreditation from the Singapore Nursing Board for its nursing Diploma programmes.

Parkway Holdings Limited launches its eight clinical programmes (oncology, heart and vascular, transplant and cellular therapy, neuroscience, women’s and children, musculoskeletal, primary care and chronic diseases, surgery) for truly integrated and seamless, patient-focused healthcare.

Parkway Holdings Limited sets up a haematology and stem cell transplant centre, which is the first of its kind in private healthcare in Southeast Asia.

Gleneagles Hospital is the first hospital in the region to establish a one-stop comprehensive private clinic.

Gleneagles Hospital is the first hospital in Southeast Asia to perform a living donor liver transplant.

The Gleneagles Medical Centre is commissioned.

Parkway Holdings Limited acquires the issued share capital of Gleneagles Hospital Pte Ltd for S$46 million.

1985
National Medical Enterprises Incorporated (NME), the largest healthcare company in the US, buys Mount Elizabeth and Parkway East Hospitals.

Mount Elizabeth Hospital opens its doors to patients. The hospital is managed by the Hospital Affiliates Corporation of America.

The Company is incorporated in Singapore under the name Singapore Glass Limited.

The new Gleneagles Hospital is opened to the public.

1958
The Gleneagles Nursing Home is incorporated as a private company called Gleneagles Hospital Limited, specialising in private Western medical services. The hospital is converted from the Gleneagles Hotel.

1957
Gleneagles Hospital starts as a 45-bed private nursing home (known as Gleneagles Nursing Home) dedicated to catering to the healthcare needs of European business communities in Singapore as well as locals.
